North Shore Hospital - Totara Haumaru
Fact
Tōtara Haumaru will be a welcome extension to the existing services currently available at North Shore Hospital and will ensure the best possible care is available to those who live in the Waitematā district, which is the largest in the country with more than 630,000 people. This figure is expected to grow to over 800,000 people by 2036/37.
The new multi-storey facility will be connected to the main hospital building via Sky Bridge and will include:
up to 150 additional beds;
eight state-of-the-art operating theatres;
new endoscopy suites for colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedures;
whānau and patient-centred design, supporting modern models of care, to enhance the experience for visitors and patients.
